Persuasive communication is an essential skill for auditors at all levels, and high-quality audit reports are a key communication tool. This workshop targets auditors at all levels in both public and private sectors. The workshop will expose participants to achieve an effective audit observation and organize reports that meet professional standards, elicit management action, and communicate crucial messages to executives and board-level readers. By developing these skills, participants can distinguish themselves in their current positions and prepare themselves for advancement.

This hands-on workshop will focus on the organization and structure of audit reports and includes case study activities for practicing the basics of audit report writing.

The workshop will cover the following key areas:

• Writing techniques that maximize acceptance of the audit viewpoint.
• Report that targets audience: Analyzing the uses and readers of the audit report and other types of engagement reports.
• Process enhancements and corrective action taken during the audit.
• Writing and revising reports with the appropriate tone, conciseness, readability, and clarity.
• Quality checking detailed findings, Prioritizing and rating audit findings/ recommendations.
• Report layout that catches readers' attention: Organizing the information in the audit report and other reporting documents.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Enhancing Internal Audit Effectiveness in reporting.

The workshop will be held from March 10-14, 2025, in Nairobi. Charges are KES 55,000 and KES 60,000 exclusive of VAT for members and non-members respectively. Members in attendance will be awarded 20 CPE Hours.

NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY ACCREDITATION:

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is DIT/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
