Cyber Security continue to present a challenge to organizations with hackers' release of more sophisticated exploits taking advantage of opportunities and weaknesses in systems. Internal Auditors needs to know more than just the terms and concepts regarding cybersecurity, social media and cloud computing.

Auditors need to be able to assess the effectiveness of an enterprise's Cybersecurity program, understand what controls are needed, where the controls should be positioned and how to perform substantive tests to assess the controls reasonable effectiveness specifically related to cybersecurity.

This workshop will help participants develop an understanding of cybersecurity concepts that can be used to facilitate integrated audit efforts within their organizations. Developed with and facilitated by leading industry experts, the workshop will examine preventive, detective, and corrective controls, and how to apply the audit process to a cloud environment. Participants will also be exposed to the mobile environment and cyber standards, Auditing the Cloud, auditing social media, as well as learn how to audit common security solutions.

This workshop is designed for IT Professionals, Internal Auditors involved in IT audits or those involved in audit activities that require an understanding of how to manage the impact of cybersecurity events on business risks.

  • Applying the Audit Process to a Cloud Environment or Third-Party Service Provider.
  • Recent Failures and Breaches in Cloud Computing.
  • Business Benefits of Cloud Computing (Why the Cloud?
  • Practical exercise on developing a Risk-assessment Questionnaire.
  • Practical exercise on developing Audit Program.

This workshop will be held from May 27-31, 2024, at the Nairobi Safari Club-Lilian Towers, Nairobi. Charges are KES 55,000 and KES 60,000 exclusive of VAT for Members and Non-Members respectively. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.
