Event: Enterprise Risk Management Workshop: The Foundation for Better Organization-wide Decision Making

Managing risk is not a process, a tool, a department, or a complied list of risks. It is how an individual, team or an organization makes better business decisions. Risks are part of every decision, from the simplest choice to the most complex strategic options. This workshop will explore the concepts of risk, risk management, and enterprise risk management, with a lens on how better decisions are made through excellence in managing risk. Participants will be exposed to critical skills to support their organization's risk assessment and response activities. The workshop is intended for internal auditors who want to understand the concepts and applications around managing enterprise-level risks, as well as anyone managing risk.


The workshop will cover:

  • The enterprise risk management mindset.
  • Embracing enterprise risk management.

2. Risk as an integral part of achieving strategy, objectives, and performance.

9. Risk Responses:

  • Understanding the range of risk responses.
  • Selecting and developing risk responses.

  • Key elements for managing data.
  • Communicating risk information.
  • Communicating with the board.
  • Identifying users and reporting needs.

The workshop will be held from October 28-November 1, 2024, at Sarova Whitesands Resort, Mombasa. Charges are KES 65,000 and KES 70,000 exclusive of VAT for Members and Non-Members respectively. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is DIT/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
