Internal Audit Profession in Transition: Workshop for Boards, Audit Committee, Heads of Internal and Management

Theme: Elevating Board Effectiveness


In face of an increasingly complex environment, Boards have to be agile or die. Boards and Audit Committees have to understand how their organizations operate, their strategies, the risks they face, their role and culture as well as get the best from management if they have to deliver value. They also have to constantly scan the environment for disruptive technologies and revolutionize how they work if they are to be effective. This workshop provides an opportunity for existing and new Boards, Audit Committees, CEOs, County Executives, and Heads of Internal Audit in the public sector, private sector, and not for profit making organizations to explore Internal Audit Governance challenges and strategies to address them. Participants will enhance their skills and competencies critical in making Boards effective. Themed, "Elevating Board Effectiveness", the workshop will cover the following topical areas:

  • Role of Boards in Automation of Fraud Risk Management.
  • CAEs and Boardroom Effectiveness.
  • Addressing Ethical Governance Gaps.
  • Are Independence and Objectivity an illusion?
  • Governance of Generative AI: A comprehensive Approach for Boards.
  • Be Agile or Die.
  • Elevating Board Effectiveness.
  • Oversight responsibility of Boards of AI in Digital Transformation Age.
  • Roundtable: Learning from peers.
  • Creating a culture of Innovation: Setting the appropriate tone at the top.
  • Revolutionizing Board Reporting to Add value.


Charges are KES 160,000 exclusive of VAT. The cost excludes accommodation. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.



Target Audience: This workshop targets Board and Audit Committee Members, Heads of Internal Audit and Chief Executive Officers.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Kenyan delegates need a tourist visa to travel to Dubai. Requirements for visa application include:

  • An invitation letter from IIA Kenya.
  • Hotel/accommodation reservation.
  • Travel/medical insurance.
  • Passport photo on a white background soft copy. (If your passport is clear the photo is not necessary).
  • Copy of your passport bio page.
  • Visa processing fee of KES 16,500.

The requirements for entering United Arab Emirates are:

  • Travel insurance (not a must but it's good to be sure).
  • Fill any required form by the airline before boarding of the flight.
  • Valid visa.
  • Valid passport.

For non-Kenyan delegates, please enquire with your embassy and/or High Commission on the travel requirements. IIA Kenya will provide invitation letters to support delegates' Visa processing.


ACCOMODATION

Delegates are expected to make their own accommodation arrangements. Delegates who wish to book their accommodation through the Institute can do so as long as full payment is received at least 30 days before the event.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is NITA/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
