Group Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Centum Investment

Dr. James Mworia Mwirigi is the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Centum Investment Company PLC (Centum), a position he has held since December 1, 2008.

During James’ tenure as CEO of Centum, total assets have increased almost 10-fold and he has conceived and initiated the establishment of many significant enterprises which include; Two Rivers, Vipingo Development, Pearl Marina in Uganda, Almasi Beverages, Nabo Capital, and Greenblade Growers amongst many others.

He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a CFA Charter Holder, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Fellow of the Kenyan Institute of Management, and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and an Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellow.He is also the recipient of a Doctorate Degree in Business (Honoris Causa) from Machakos University.

James has served as Chairman of the Board of Almasi Beverages and he currently chairs the board of Sidian Bank. He previously served on the Boards of the Nairobi Securities Exchange, the Central Depository and Settlement Corporation and was a member of the Committee that developed the Kenya Capital Markets Corporate Governance Guidelines.

Additionally, he is a member of the Boards of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and at least 40 other companies that form part of the Centum Group.

In October 2016 James was appointed by H.E. the President as the first Chancellor of Machakos University. In 2018 James was appointed Chairman of the Laikipia County Development Authority a body that is charged with the mandate of promoting economic and social development in the County of Laikipia.

He is a recipient of a number of awards including the East Africa Business Leader of Year 2015 the Corporate Council for Africa, Africa Business Leader of the Year 2014 which was presented in Washington DC, the Africa Young Business Leader of the Year2011 at the Africa Business Leaders Awards in Johannesburg, the Champion of Governance CEO of the Year Award presented by the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries in 2015, among many other awards.

Hon. David Osiany, HSC is the Chief Administrative Secretary for the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development.

He is a consummate policy analyst and communication specialist. His extensive mulitsectoral experience spans the areas of public policy, strategic communications and government relations.

He served as a Special Advisor in the office of the Prime Minister of Kenya (2012-2013). He also formerly worked for Oxfam GB Pan-African program as a Governance Associate as well as a news anchor for Kenya’s leading broadcasting group, Royal Media Services’ HOT 96 FM.

Mr. Osiany holds BA (Comms) from University of Nairobi and MSc in Public Policy from the University of Bristol, England courtesy of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship program.

He is also a UNEP-Bayer Young Environmental Envoy awardee (2009). Prior to his current role, Hon. Osiany served as Group CEO of Crestwood Marketing & Communications Ltd, a communications company based in Nairobi with assignments across the African region.

He also had lead consulting roles with a number of multinational organizations such as PATH, UNDP, UNFPA, NAIRAS among others.

Dr. Simon Kibet Rotich is currently the Commission Secretary/CEO Public Service Commission. Dr. Rotich joined the civil service in 1991 as an Assistant Secretary Cadet in the Office of the President, rising steadily through the ranks as District Officer, District Commissioner, Undersecretary, Deputy Secretary, Senior Deputy Secretary, Director of Administration, Deputy Commission Secretary, and finally to his current position as Commission Secretary/CEO. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Commission on Implementation of the Constitution. Dr. Rotich has been a member of various selection panels constituted by the Government to recruit chairpersons and members of Constitutional and Statutory Commissions and Agencies including the National Cohesion Integration Commission, Technical Vocational Education Training Authority, and Commission on Administrative Justice. Dr. Rotich holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Moi University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University. Dr. Rotich is a member of the Kenya Association of Public Administration and Management (KAPAM), an affiliate of the Africa Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM). In recognition of his contribution to public service, Dr. Rotich was awarded the Order of the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) and the Order of the Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Prior to joining KCB Bank, Faith worked for Safaricom Ltd as the Senior Fraud Manager responsible for fraud risk management. Faith has also worked with KPMG as a Forensic Manager providing advisory on financial crime management and business advisory. Faith has also worked for the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, as an Investigation/ Legal Officer undertaking forensic investigation of corruption and economic crimes, asset tracing, and civil litigation. In this role, Wright leads the 17-member Global Board, is chair of the Supervisory Committee and presides over Global Assembly. Wright is an experienced Chief Audit Executive with more than 35 years of corporate experience in the airline, energy, and financial services industries. He has been in the internal audit profession for more than 19 years. Before becoming Global Chair, Wright’s volunteer roles at The IIA included senior vice chair, vice chair of Finance and of Professional Guidance, chair of the North American Advocacy Committee and of the Global Committee Task Force, and member of the Three Lines Model task force. Wright is also a former editor of the Risk Watch column in Internal Auditor magazine and a speaker and presenter at many IIA and other conferences.

Mwika has previously worked with among others, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), KPMG, Bata Shoe Company, Mumias Sugar Company, Sovereign Group Limited and AH Consulting.
In recent years at Grande Afrique Consulting Limited, Mwika has led his firm to fully automate Internal Audit and Risk departments in several Public and Private sector institutions in East Africa, especially through the implementation of Risk-Based Data-Driven Continuous Auditing and Continuous Monitoring.
GAC is currently the Africa reseller of Auditrunner Audit Management System. Mwika is also extensively engaged in several Fraud Investigations and Cybercrime investigations in East Africa.
Mwika is a BSc. Computer Science graduate of Egerton University, a CPA (K), CPA (U), CIA, CISA and CISM as well a member of ICPAK, ICPAU, ISACA, IIA and ACFE.
